    General:
How do I place a special order to purchase a movie?
You can place a special order for these titles by visiting your local Rogers Plus store.

How can I contact you regarding store issues?
To contact us regarding store issues, comments or feedback, you can speak directly with the manager of your local store (click here for our store locator) or send us an email.

    What is the Parents' Guide?
Rogers Plus is committed to providing parents with an information guide to help assist your decision in what your kids and/or family watch. Selected movies have been reviewed and the content in the areas of Sex/nudity, Drugs/alcohol, Violence/Scariness and Objectionable Words/Phrases have been highlighted. We are continually adding Parent's Guides to more titles and these reviews are in addition to the Canadian Home Video Classification System.

    How are movies rated?
In May 1995 the film and video industry unveiled its new Canadian Rating System for Home Videos, intended to bring national uniformity to home video ratings. Ratings are determined by averaging the classifications assigned by the provincial boards. These ratings are stickered on the back of the video jackets.

How do I get Rogers Plus to sponsor my fundraising activity?
For details about fundraising and sponsorships, please visit www.rogerssponsorship.com

How do I watch movie trailers and movies online?
You need either Windows Media Player (download for free here) OR Real Player (download for free here). Based on your Internet connection you can choose either broadband (for cable/DSL connections) OR narrowband (for modem connections) for watching movies. If you want to watch a trailer, then you can choose either Windows Media Player or Real Player and the appropriate speed.

    Star Rewards:
How do I sign up for Star Rewards?
It's easy! All you have to do is go to any Rogers Plus store and tell them that you’d like to join our program. If you’re an existing video member, the customer service representative will simply hand you over a new card to replace your existing membership card and you’re good to go. If you’re not a current member its still easy. A Customer Service Representative will add you to our system (there are a few rental requirements our staff can help you with) and give your new STAR REWARDS membership card.

How much does it cost and how long does it last?
Membership costs $10 per year, however, most customers will pay for that in the first month! Right now you can get a free new release movie for signing up for the Star Rewards Newsletter and get 5 bonus points when you sign up today.

    How are my points tracked?
Points are tracked on your account. When you arrive at the counter, present your STAR REWARDS card and your points balance will be brought up.

Can I collect points for rentals at different Rogers Plus stores?
Of course. Just show your STAR REWARDS Membership card at any store and our system will automatically update your account. You will be able to collect or redeem points at any of our participating locations.

    What about "Free Kids Movies"?
Each member is entitled to one free kids movie rental with every paid movie or game rental.

Do I have to carry a card?
The card is used to centrally track your points balance so if you go to another store, your balance will travel with you. Also, its more secure than just using phone number and last name to confirm your ID.

Do my points expire each month like at other video stores?
No, they don’t expire as long as you are a Star Rewards member.

Can other people in my family collect or use points?
Yes, you can add up to 4 additional Star Rewards cards to family members provided they live in the same household. These signers have full rental and redemption privileges.

What if I lose my card, or it gets stolen?
Notify the staff immediately. We will issue you a new card at no cost. The old card will no longer be valid.

    Movie Rentals:
So does No Late Fees mean that I can keep the movie as long as I want?
No. The movie is still due back the next day by 9pm but because you chose the No Late Fee option, you can take a few extra days without being charged. After the 8th day past due, the rental is converted to a sale. However, if you bring the movie back by the 30th day past due, you will only be charged a $1.75 restocking fee.

Isn't the re-stocking fee just another term for Late Fee?
The re-stocking fee is an administrative cost that compensates for having to convert the rental to a sale. The re-stocking fee helps to cover this cost.

Do you still have No Late Fees?
Yes, we do. While we offer a lower 1-Day price for those who only need the movie for a day, you can also select the No Late Fees option if you wish.

Do you still have Pay Per Day titles?
While we do not still offer Pay Per Day, our 1-Day rental option gives you a similar one-day low price on ALL New Releases, while still giving you the option to choose No Late Fees if you wish.

So what happens if I go over 30 days?
You now own the movie and will be charged a replacement fee on top of their additional extended viewing charges.

What do you mean by "No Late Fees"?
You will not be charged extended viewing or late fees for keeping movie rentals for a day or two beyond the due date shown on the receipt.

So I can keep movie rentals for as long as I want?
No. We ask that you still return them by their due date so others can enjoy them. Movies are still due back by the date on your receipt.

Is there a limit on the number of movies I can rent?
To help ensure that others can enjoy the movie rentals they are looking for, we are limiting the number of New Release movie rentals to five (5) at any one time.

With the No Late Fees option, when will you start charging me for movie rentals not returned and how will you calculate that amount?
If a rental has not been returned by the 8th day following its due date, your Rogers Plus account will be updated to change the amount of the rental to the amount of the movie's purchase price (either the retail price for New Releases or, if available, the Previously Viewed selling price). This purchase price will be shown on your membership account as an actual sale if the movie rental has still not been returned within 30 days after the original due date.

How do I pay for a movie rental that has been converted to a sale?
Charges will be billed to your Rogers Membership account, not your credit card. How you choose to pay those charges is up to you.

    Blu-ray Disc:
Why is Blu-ray better than standard DVDs?
Blu-ray’s high definition movie images are more crisp, rich and realistic than those delivered on standard DVDs due to the ability of the Blu-ray discs to hold more data. High Def can deliver six times the resolution of a standard DVD (up to 1080p).

    What is Blu-ray?
Blu-ray is the name of the next-generation high definition disc format. The format was developed to enable recording, rewriting, and playback of high definition (HD), as well as storing large amounts of data.

Can I play Blu-ray movies in a regular DVD player?
No, you need a Blu-ray player to play Blu-Ray Discs.

What equipment do I need for the best Blu-ray viewing experience?
For the best high definition performance, your entertainment system should include:
    • Blu-ray Player
    • HD Television with 720p, 1080i or 1080p required
    • Surround sound speaker system – with a Dolby 5.1 or 7.1 channel

Do game systems support High Definition?
Yes. PLAYSTATION 3 has an internal Blu-ray drive.

Can I watch my standard DVDs on a Blu-ray player?
Yes, Blu-ray Disc players are backwards compatible and will play standard DVDs.

    I can't print my coupon!
Our coupons are optimized for Internet Explorer browsers with the cookie and Java settings enabled. Also, please check the "caching" settings on your web browser. Select the option of "every visit to this page" or something similar, so that you are not having a record of this image stored on your coupon.

Alternatively, you can do an "image capture" of your personalized coupon. To do this, generate your coupon. When the coupon image is on your screen, select the Alt and Print Screen buttons on your keyboard simultaneously. This will copy an image of your screen. You can then paste that image into a word processing document, such as Microsoft Word. You may need to increase the size of the image, but as long as the coupon code number, your name and membership number are legible, the stores will redeem your coupon.

How do I make sure my computer's set up correctly for the coupons?
Your computer must be set to allow "cookies" to be able to generate our coupons. To test your computer, please follow this link and hit the "submit query" button twice to report if your computer had cookies enabled. If your computer does not have cookies enabled, please follow the instructions below to re-set your computer.

    For Internet Explorer 5.0
    · On the Tools menu in Internet Explorer, click Internet Options. Click the Security tab.
    · Click the zone that you want to set the security level for. Move the slider up down for a lower level of security.
    · To specify custom security settings for the selected zone, click the Customize Level button. To set the options for a particular security level back to their original settings, click the Default Level button.

    For Internet Explorer 6.0
    · In Internet Explorer, on the Tools menu, click Internet Options. Click the Privacy tab, and then click Edit.
    · In Address of Web site, type the complete address of the Web site for which you want to specify custom settings. For example, http://www.rogersvideo.ca/
    · To specify that you want Internet Explorer to always allow cookies from the specified Web site to be saved on your computer, click Allow.

    What's a computer cookie?
Some Web sites store information in a small text file, called a "cookie," on your hard disk. To receive the Rogers Plus personalized printable coupons, you must enable cookies on your computer.

Cookies contain information about you and your preferences. For example, if you inquire about a flight schedule at an airline's Web site, the site might create a cookie that contains your itinerary. Or it might only contain a record of which pages within the site you visited, to help the site customize the view for you the next time you visit.

Only the information that you provide, or the choices you make while visiting a Web site, can be stored in a cookie. For example, the site cannot determine your email name unless you choose to type it. Allowing a Web site to create a cookie does not give that or any other site access to the rest of your computer, and only the site that created the cookie can read it.

Internet Explorer is set up to allow the creation of cookies; however, you can specify that you be prompted before a site puts a cookie on your hard disk, so you can choose to allow or disallow the cookie; or you can prevent Internet Explorer from accepting any cookies.

You can specify different settings for different security zones. For example, you might want to allow Web sites to create cookies if they are in your Trusted sites or Local intranet zone, prompt you before creating cookies if they are in your Internet zone, and never allow cookies if they are in your Restricted sites zone.

I'm an Internet Explorer 6.0 User and I still can't get my coupon!
Because IE 6.0 does not come with Java SDK pre-installed, you may need to install Java to access our coupons. Please follow this link to download a free version of Java.

That goes for information disclosed on message boards, in chat areas - or even in e-mail. If you post personal information online, that information may be intercepted and may be accessible to the public and may expose you to unsolicited messages.
