| Started his career as a Sweat-Hog on televisions Welcome Back Carter, but soon found his sex symbol status was to take him to the A-List. His first films included Boy In The Bubble and Carrie two very diverse movies which showcased his range in acting. But his first blockbuster film came with Saturday Night Fever where he played the angry New Jersey disco king, the film received rave reviews for Travolta’s performance. He would follow Fever with the popular musical Grease a film that seems to revive itself with each new generation who is exposed to it and Urban Cowboy . For most of the 1980's Travolta would take on many different roles including the Look Who’s Talking franchise, but his star power seemed to dim. In 1994 Travolta made a stellar come back in the film Pulp Fiction , the role apparently awarded to John after defeating the director Quentin Tarantino in a Welcome Back Carter board game. Soon John would shine again in film’s like The Generals Daughter , Get Shorty and Swordfish . He is married (with children) to Kelly Preston . |
